All About Love

I think that committment is one of the most important aspects of love. I think its really important because there cant be any type of strong relationship without committment. Both partners need to be committed to each other in order to move forward with each other. Being committed to each other means that they accept each other and put in the mutual effort to be with one another. To be able to love one another, committment must be present in both of them.

In my opinion, the aspect of love that people tend to disregard most is romance. I think romance is disregarded because people dont always think that its necesary in a relationship. I believe that people forget that romance is an important factor to keep a relationship going. Often, people focus more on sex and not romance which can ruin the love in a relationship.

The social type

I scored the highest in the social type. People that score highest in this category tend to enjoy helping others and contributing to the good of society. They have good communicative skills and love to work with people. Majors related to this type include finance, political science, social work, criminal justice, management, and more. Career options related to this type include counselor, attorney, educational program coordinator, peace corps worker, and much more.

These results are pretty close to what I expect, because I love to work with others. I went into this assignment having a really small idea of what I wanted to pursue, but I wasn't really sure. This really helped me be more open and consider majors and careers in "the social type."

My Hero

Ever since I was a child, there have been many people that I look up to. As I look back, I even remember looking up to police officers for always "catching the bad guys." The biggest hero that I have today would have to be one of my advisers, a police officer. He is someone that really anyone could look up to. He taught me many aspects of law enforcement and opened my eyes to many different things. He really takes his job to heart and actually enjoys giving out to the community. Whether it's holding events to inform the public about safety, to creating programs that prevent crimes, he's always there and does what he needs to do because he wants to. I look up to this because I think that it's important that people give out to their community, and I hope that one day I can make a good impact on my community the way he does.

This compares to the texts we've watched such as "Real Life Superheros" because he is an ordinary person that chose his career so that he could give out to the world. It was his decision to do what he does. It compares to the people in the movie who put their life on the line to help others. But this is a different kind of hero than those mention in the article "The Psychology of Heroism" because those kind of heroes acted on impulse, while my hero is a long term kind of hero. Though there are many heroes out there, my hero makes a big impact on my life.

Heroism

Do we need a hero? Our society definitely needs a hero figure. In the article we read in class, it is recorded that heroism exists in every human culture that was ever recorded. But what is a hero? A hero is someone who is willing to take their own time and effort to help others out. They are very caring and would do whatever they can. Whether it's to help a loved one, or even a stranger, heroes will still step up and fight for them. For example, all the people who sacrifice their lives to fight in the war that the we've been for more than ten years are all considered heroes. They have the strength and courage to represent our country in a way that puts their lives on the line.

I think that it is somewhat possible for heroes to combat some "forces of evil" if you define these "forces" as crimes, chaos, hatred, negativity, et cetera. Their are people fighting crimes out their. They do the best they can to make sure that our communities are as safe as possible. Their are also people to lead people so things are more organized and less chaotic. These leaders can influence and motivate others so that there is no negative vibe. Basically, heroes choose to help and try to make the lives of others better.

Our world is full of great heroes, and that's how it should be.

Education

"A human being is not attaining his full heights until he is educated" -Horace Mann
Education is very important in America. It is the foundation of our future, and essential for people who want to succeed in their careers. There are jobs with companies that pay you more because you're trained to have higher- skilled work with an education. Apposed to if you didn't have an education, it's more likely that you wouldn't be able to explore new jobs ans see how far you can get with your life. Imagine if everyone decided to be uneducated because they thought it wasn't important to them. The world would be so disorganized and all over the place.

To me, education is very valuable. I believe that in order for me to happy and reach my dreams, that I need to fulfill my education. I want to be able to make my parents proud of me, and prove to them that they did a good job with their parenting. I want to be able to say that I made it as far as I could. Even though I'm still undecided on what I want to pursue with my careers, I know that education is important. I can't imagine how  my life would be like if education wasn't a big part of it.

For senior year, I'm most excited about graduation! Who wouldn't be excited about that? Oh, and ball..

SO, if I was stranded on an island, I would bring my cell phone with me, hoping and praying that there would be signal. Haha. I would also bring some clothes, in case I need to keep warm or anything and possibly a smart friend! That way, we could figure out together what to do and I can have some company.
